Fear not that I could leave you all alone to grope and stumble in the cold of night. Your hopes and dreams are all to me unknown except to know I trust your faith and sight.
But if you tire somewhere upon your climb. I'll bear you up and share in your distress. Then we'll continue past the bounds of time. Your mission to delight has met success.
You helped me through my problems when they rose. With all the love you brought, you made me smile. and you have nurtured all that's best of those, while sharing wondrous light with me awhile.
Though we see different visions through life's fog,
Good morning from beautiful Spain, Norbanus...
The deep love for your dog went beyond the words in your Sonnet.
And, each word you wrote flew off the page and into my heart.
Upon Richards suggestion I looked at your heartfelt poem... This, because I am new to submitting my work on this site to to anyone, anywhere. He felt it would be good for me to see how a true Sonneteer writes. The many poems I have written for over 60 years have been kept safety in a drawer.
Recently, I decided to submit one of my poems Hand-In-Hand and Richard contacted me stating that my poem was actually a Sonnet (little did I know!-...as I have had no education in writing) Anyway, this whole new adventure (syllables, Iambics) has been wonderful.
Looking forward to read more of yours,
Lisa
Wonderful tribute and sentiment expressed for man's best friend, your wonderful dog. The lines so heartfelt, and written in meter and rhyme with a lovely flow. Thank you Norbanus, I hope you have many happy years together in friendship.

How heartfelt this is! The promises of lasting the whole nine yards, the commitment to stay and not just hover, the dedication to support your friend all the way through is very beautifully mounted on a faultless metrical poem.
Norbanus, I love your pup’s photo and I applaud your heartfelt and deeply moving tribute to your best friend. I share your sentiments completely. I see from your responses that he has passed away and I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how deep that loss is. “Sharing wondrous light with me awhile”- brilliant, profound line line. Lovely sonnet form, flow, cadence and rhyme in your skillful and poignant verses. He is happy and watching over you from the Rainbow Bridge. You two will definitely meet again.🐶❤️

Ah! Beautiful twist at the end of a lovely tribute. :):)
Sonnets make life worth living, don't you agree?

Oh, goodness... all the more of a tribute. Here's wishing you a peaceful heart.
I have no words....my voice is in my awe!! Well done!
(I just can't help but notice the fact that "rose" is trying to rhyme with "me".....what happened there? Doesn't take that much away from the poem, but having presented this really carefully as a sonnet, it does come off as a bit awkward).

Thanks for catching that for me. I must have been asleep at the switch. (or petting my dog.)
I feel exactly the same way about my furry friends! *smile* I love the way your sentiments are unique & a little bit cerebral, rather than the usual mindless pet gushing (like I do!) *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie
