In Another Life

In Another Life

A Poem by Vines
"

I had a twin who died, this is for them. I believe they still watch over me and every few months, I receive a song from them, hence the last line of my poem.

"
If I told you I’m scared of death
Would I feel your hand in mine?
Life slipping through my eyes
Face paling at my own sight

When my head hits the floor and I’m seeing memories flashing by
Would you play me our songs to take the edge off old bites?
When I think about you, will you smile down at me?
Because for years I’ve planned for you to be the first that I see

With my body left behind, I want to see yours waiting
Your open arms, I’ll rub my eyes to check if this is something I’m mistaking
I’ll leap into them only seconds later and the rest of the guides will join
A big celebration for the rejoice

And if you’re not there, that’s okay, I understand
I’ll find you in your new life and take my place at the stand
I’ll guide you through tough and soft times just like how you did with me
You’ll hear a song, think back, and let’s hope you’ll know it’s me
