Like I DoA Poem by Aimer NoyesWhat would you did if the guy you liked couldn't be yours? He steps and the light follows him, A safe distance away from them. She takes his arm, And he flinches like she’s a live wire. The candy sweetens in my mouth, But it sticks between my teeth. Then she glances back at me, Yet she will never see what I can. She looks away darkly, I know she cannot love him like I do A laugh slides from her lips, In streams of cold blood. I watch them leave, Knowing that they can’t hide from me. The liquid stains my clothes, But at least he’s unassuming. © 2017 Aimer NoyesAuthor's Note
