Your doll is missing you dad.

 

I remember when I was small,

I used to play with you in our backyard.

I remember how you used to call me your doll.

 

I remember the first day of my school,

You were there in the car watching your doll.

You left me away with a heart to hold.

 

I remember the way you used to scold me,

Every time whenever I wanted you,

You were always there for me.

 

I remember the day when you left me away,

I cried all that day and night for you.

When I found nothing would ever be the same.

 

Now that backyard is empty,

And your doll is missing you.

I can’t take it anymore.

I miss your presence, your touch,

Your words…

I miss you so badly that I can’t explain.

I miss you dad…

My dad passed away recently on 30th october'08. I have written this poem for him.

Aw..... I'm sorry for the loss of your father. It's always hard losing someone you love deeply, as you truly showed us in this piece. I thought the way you went about writing it, had a lot to do with how you felt. For example, you sort of eased the fact he was gone and, as well, eased the way you were feeling. I could see the imagery within the words written. They all felt so very powerful! Best wishes :)
