A morning in the patio.A Story by moetI couple of thoughts that crossed my mind.
I am not quite sure if you can call this a short story but I will share it with you even though you have not solicited it--because I like you:
Each morning's routine has the same flavor and each routine culminates in the patio. This morning--June twenty-first, two thousand sixteen-- an interesting thought came to me as I threw the lifeless form of a beautiful Pale Swallowtail butterfly into the Web of a spider that inhabits the area between the Weber Grill and the patio's top cap fence. As that poor creature flew his last flight onto the web I could not help thinking about my role: I was playing God. I am certain that the spider has never encountered such a gargantuan flying insect and would have never encountered one if I had not decided to toss the dead remains of that butterfly onto his web. Today that spider shall feast. After that happened I began to think about how "Karma" works. I do believe that you get what you give. My reasoning is this: monkey see; monkey do (there is more to that, of course). I firmly believe that if you are genuine and honest with yourself, then you will naturally be that way to your fellow men. You must love yourself in order to be able to love others--everyone knows this--yet few make it their life's goal to learn to love themselves. If inwardly one doesn't feel at peace with oneself, then how is one expected to be at peace with the outside world?--I shall leave for you to answer. When an acts is done out of kindness from the bottom of the heart and dignity is shown to the one being helped, something special happens: the human reconnects with what it truly is to be human. That one act then multiplies like rabbits on an open field and before you know it, it comes full circle back to you: that is how Karma works. © 2016 moet |
