Death of Love

Death of Love

A Poem by ReversingEvolution4TheBetter
"

A short poem about what the absence of love would do to us

"
You cannot hide your soul
From the burning embers of fate
In this world of unremitting struggle
We seek immortality for oneself
Realization will deceive your hope
Hope will betray your actuality
Nothing is what it seems
Only time will show these scars,
Scars that you have so worthily obtained
During the struggles of subsistence
Pain shows itself as an ally
Comfort is the sprite of deceit
Immortality for this connotative bequest
Is like the bereavement of love itself

I like the depiction of the scars, I still don't like the word "oneself", but everything else flows very well.
