Good-bye Friend

Good-bye Friend

A Poem by noellejoi
"

A poem I wrote after a significant low point in a dear friendship.

"

I poured my heart out to you

And you did nothing with it

When will somebody listen?

When will someone get me?

I take you as you are

I will listen for hours

But will you do the same?

Will you understand?

I poured my heart out

Cried until dawn

I’m transparent

I poured my heart out to you

But I want it back

You don’t deserve to hear

Whats going on in my head

When all it does is slip through your fingers

We all just need someone to understand

And you’re not it, no you’re not him.

I really think that this is the end

Of something that never really began

Goodbye friend

your resolve grew as the poem progressed. i like the insight the piece offers. to open up to another person is a risk we all take, and often, more often than any of us likes, it doesn't work out. a nice snapshot of a moment in life.
