I Am Insanity Hidden Behind a Pretty Face

I Am Insanity Hidden Behind a Pretty Face

A Poem by Taylor
"

We had to write I Am poems in English 1 Honors last year and this is what I come up with. We also had to provide a photo that's was what I put. Lol

"
I am insanity hidden under a pretty face
I wonder about the dreams I chase
I hear the drip drip drip of vital liquids in a hospital room
I see people cry and fear doom
I want to build my kingdoms walls like an arms race
I am insanity hidden under a pretty face

I pretend love will never fade
I feel afraid
I need affection
I worry about affliction
I cry when I can resist everything but temptation and fake grace
I am insanity hidden behind a pretty face

I understand life's no fairytale
I believe true love can and cannot fail
I dream of becoming a blooming flower on a Queen of the Night
I try to then play my cards right
I hope to diminish chaos from my birthplace, for
I am insanity hidden behind a pretty face

I find the different imagery very powerful in describing what the mind is trying to process. I particularly like ,'I want to build my kingdoms walls like an arms race'
And I like that it always comes back to the statement, 'I am insanity hidden behind a pretty face'
