The Tears of Depth

The Tears of Depth

A Poem by Taylor

I remember the day.
The day I got lost in the fog.
I remember everything you say,
About the misty bog.

Can you tell me?
Where does it end?
Why can't I see?
Will I always have to defend?

Don't kiss me.
Just don't.
It's not love, won't you agree?
If you don't try, then I won't.

Try to think of me,
In all the wrong ways.
If I do what you do, if I break the key,
And lock you out for all of the days.

Don't look at me.
Or turn my way.
Don't point me out to your friends.
Or ask me to stay.

I'm not yours.
I don't wish to be.
Even if I clean all the sores,
No water will be enough to cleanse me!

Only fools fall for you.
Only fools turn your way.
Only fools do.
And only fools stay.

Tell me, will you cry?
When you've figured out I've left?
Will tears fall and I be the reason why?
I only wish I could listen to the tears of depth!

Emotively deep, and creates such a visual picture of what the speaker is going through.
