Tattoo

"

This is about physical and mental abuse, I've always found that sort of pain beautiful in a way.

Tattoo

Blue ink, blue ink,

The paint spreads under my skin,

Just like your love.

It is me, it is you,

It is ours.

The color tells the story,

I stains my skin like a scar,

Just as you have stained my heart.

Close my eyes,

Count to three.

Open my eyes,

And it will all go away.

One…two...

Three.

Twilight sets before dusk takes its place,

And before the midnight rain,

Falls blissfully from the dark skies.

You will be home soon,

This much I know is true.

So I sit and wait for you.

My fingers caress my skin,

Over the dark memories you left behind,

Only hours ago.

I can hear your pleas as your fist lands on my face,

I love you, I love you, I love you.

Memories, of you touching me…

You clench my wrists and pin me down,

Your hands come down on my body violently.

Love is a game,

How is it I still want to play?

I love you, I love you, I love you…

I know, I whisper back.

Tears stream down my face,

Your eyes are wild.

Your breath smells like liquid poison,

Your fists stay clenched.

I put my hands on your face,

I love you.

I’m sorry, you say. I’m so sorry.

Shhh, it’s okay. I love you.

Then you are wild again.

Your hands leave bruises where they touch.

My mouth turns red as the pain leaves my body.

I love you.

One…two...

Three.

Blue ink, blue ink…

The twilight moves on.

I watch as the colors change in the sky.

The sun has set,

The night is yet to come.

Blue ink, blue ink…

The candle flame flickers in the dark room,

The dusty air fades to darkness.

The ink spreads across my bruised skin,

Like a wildfire.

Drawing the ravishing shape of our love,

The curves and cuts,

They are everything.

The feather wilts day by day,

And from it, the birds fly away.

It is free,

It is me.

Blue ink, blue ink…

I hear you at the door,

My body trembles with fear.

I can hear your footsteps echo off the walls,

Then you are here.

Your hands slide down my back,

Across my neck.

I turn to look at you, my body sore,

As I stare into you black eyes,

I am not afraid anymore.

Then it is all over,

I love you, I’m sorry.

Outside, the dark skies start to cry,

But not me,

No my eyes are dry.

I love you.

You’re always with me,

Just like a tattoo.

I’ll always love you.

I'm just another person trying to make sense of the thoughts in my head. Though through my experiences, those thoughts are far more than anything I can write down on a piece of paper. What I write is .. more..
