ConfusionA Poem by not_todayThis is why I answer texts at 3 in the morningWe don't talk I don't care that we don't talk If you wanted to talk I'll talk And then I'd probably care Because I'm clingy But you were there yesterday Asking if I was okay As I sat crying You You confuse me I said the words I'm gay Suddenly You're talking to me Just small talk But it's more than before I walked by you in the hall I smiled I wanted to be a nice person You smiled back Then looked at your shoes Still smiling I wondered why you looked at your shoes They're not that interesting They're just shoes Why did you look at them? I think you just wanted to make sure they were tied That's the only reason I can think of And in class You stare at me I look around the room And see you staring You only stop staring If I tilt my head And show the fact that I see you Then you look away You're reportedly straight But all of this What Why So much confusion I don't know what's going on in your brain But I do know If you are what people wonder If you feel the way people ask You're seriously out of my league I'm literally trash But you You're better than me By so much I'm the messy stuff that fills a dumpster I don't understand Why someone like you Would be caught dead With someone like me I'm sure I'm not worth your time Your time should be spent with people Who are at the same level as you Some first class people Who wouldn't go anywhere near the third class I don't understand
