Intersection

A poem I wrote a couple years back about a friend

We walk together, two parallel lines

Nothing connecting, nothing sublime

Our paths are set forwards, but I want to bet

That one day we’ll join, one day intersect

Take a new path, get lost ‘long the way

Bring joy to our lives, have much more to say

But that day is not now, that day is a guess

That day I’ll succeed, that day pass your test

When that day shall be, I truly don’t know

So I’ll just walk along, my feelings in tow.
