The Happy l'il One

The Happy l'il One

A Poem by Nivedithaa Ramaswami

The shine of the morning sun,
Bounced off the l'il one.
Sounded like tinkering bells,
Her laughter.

Tak.. Tak..

Round and round she went,
Hopping in joy and excitement.
For the dreary cold has left,
And in it's place, the warm summer was felt.

Tak.. Tak..

Lovely;
The cute dimples,
The red ribbon,
The yellow frock,
The mischevious glint.

God's loveliest creation,
The l'il happy one.

Thud!

Bent her knee,
Came back with a grin
And with it.
It
Being the crutch,
To hold her pairless left leg.
