The Broken Hearts.

The Broken Hearts.

A Poem by Nivedithaa Ramaswami

Heart clenched
Head throbbed
Lips quivered
Hands shivered.

They were broken
-Into he and she
Broken into two, were not only they.

Society ,
Believed their parents.
Love,
Believed them.

Her pillows:
Showered daily.
His room:
Graced with puffs of smoke.

She drowned herself ;
In the tear drops off her eyes.
He drowned himself ;
In the liquor sloshing down his throat.

Eyes longing,
Hearts yearning,
They wanted each other.

All they could do was,
Plaster fake smiles;
For the true ones,
Were reserved for each other.

Until miracles happened
Or
Until next birth.

Then, Now , Forever.
His heart beats for her
And her's, for him.
