sea salt

sea salt

A Poem by twig

does the ship decide to go down with the captain

or is the captain really held captive?

controlling the wheel

or controlled by the fear

that his knave nature has

led him down this salty path.

an accent mark

on the ever awaiting vessel

that doesn’t have a name.

and like the waves

does his ghost rise and fall by the pull of the moon?

casting into rippled waters

doubling and trippling

from the storm

...these flashbacks

to the beat

of each counted denial.

skcabhsalf eseht...

that you can’t use anymore.
