A Cowards TormentA Poem by The Dreamerwe often shrink away and lack the courage to face many adverse situations in our life...Its knocking at my door, I am sitting still inside: Having bolted it tight. My body, in flames A fire so cold, I am trembling, Slowly going numb - I freeze.
A terrible creature, clawing inside me, Oozing out its venom, into every vein. Tearing my flesh gradually, With its deadly fangs. A beast called 'Fear' is what it is: Devouring me from within.
Frozen - unable to move, I am huddled in a corner. Hand over my ears, Trying to tune out, That persistent knocking. Hoping that what awaits me, Would leave sooner or later, Under the presumption: There is no one within…..
