Two SHADOWS

when people you love change and become strangers slowly, they start to fade inside you....slowly.

My toys - for her to take away,

Covered in kisses, I heard her 'I love you's everyday.

Often we fought, it always made me weep:

When she laughed, the tears vanished in a sweep.

She was always my Big sister…..

But it all dried away - like water in a blister.

Soaring - high - on ambition, she vanished:

Became someone, unreal and polished.

No more than a stranger, now -

Just another shadow….. you know how.

He promised he'd never leave

Nestled in the dreams we weave.

My heart, his possession

And he, my obsession…..

He grew distant - Love froze,

My heart bled - as red as a rose.

He changed, I knew him no more:

'Why?' - I tried not to explore.

He died a little each day, inside me:

Fading into a shadow - within me.

A Sister, a Lover - I loved with all my life,

Severed from me, by fate's cruel knife.

I know them no more - vague and obscure,

Like Two SHADOWS ? - I'm not sure…

Lovely! Truly beautiful and well written. I especially liked how you tied the two people mentioned... it's quite sad how people change with time...they become strangers and you feel alone because they've let go and you're still trying to save what's left. Good job. ^_^

...you sense it slowly, not really sure...then you feel the absence of them even when they're there. They fade slowly from your thoughts as well...took me back to my breakup...loved this, well done.:)
