April's Wing

April's Wing

A Poem by nishantshah2381

In my backyard,
When we were teens,
we build the sand castles of life.
till the time we witnessed the horizons of sea.

I still remember,
Whenever I gazed your hazel eyes,
I found a glint like a star in shimmering skies.
And every time I whispered something
I remember your quiet smile.

Then,
Once we tried to cross the unceasing shores,
even without bidding a goodbye.
But still sometimes I feel.
Even I know, you longing for me.

Yesterday when I crossed the lane,
I found the same glint amidst many eyes.
And when I was still reflecting on my sepia dreams,
you smiled and your eyes uttered me everything.

I still revel the yesterday’s light,
And I flutter my April wings in the air.
you alighted the flickering hope in my life
As you whispered through your incandescent eyes.

A very good story of youth and happiness in your poem. I like how you described each memory. A strong ending to a excellent poem.

I love this. Such emotion of longing is shown through your flow of the poem. I enjoyed reading it. The only thing I found a little confusing was the line "whenever I gazed your hazel eyes" to me this line doesn't read a smoothly as the rest of the lines. A sugguestion would be to add "into" to the line so that it says "into your hazel eyes". That's the only thing I found that took away from the poem but other than that it was really good.
