Yearning

Yearning

A Poem by nishantshah2381

Gazing the parched land
and then the hallowed skies,
With each hour,
I yearn to twine my gnarled fate ,
Even the crevices of this bleak land
now, laments for the new bracing life

Stealthily,
I had jaunted the foothills of every shrine,
and acceded to the demigods of frantic mankind.
Imploring for the source of enriched existence,
But even they strangled my amulets of time.

Still,
my dire eyes aches for the callow soul
conceived in the wombs of Mother earth for ages.
Every time, when the seared sun glistens the land,
I rue for the contentment of moist spirits in the air.
Now,
even the dearth languishes for the Elixir of life.

Alternative last two lines:

Every day, when the seared sun glistens the land,
I rue for the contentment of moist spirits in the air.
And when the darkness descends,
I cease my penance for the Elixir of life .
