Humble Pair

Humble Pair

A Poem by nishantshah2381
"

Penned March 5 2011 I have used some lines from Nancy Sinaara's song " These boots are for walking"

"

I heard someone humming,

number from the sixties blues

“These boots are made for walking,

and that’s just what they’ll do

one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you”

then, every hour I wondered,

the very existence of my life,

where some passes the judgment

and I am the victim of parasites.

We always keep conning the colors,

the colors of black, white and grey

And then one day, abruptly we relaize

there are ashes lying silently in our grave.

Even in my dreams,

I hear someone whispering the same lines again.

Then, I try to snub the arrant mankind behind

and relish the green pastures everyday.

Still,my boots are lying in the shelf,

With the same I distance many destined places everyday.

And before I repose silently in my tomb,

I wish to walk the world with the same humble pair again.

Very nice poem, I liked the 4th stanza best - the one with the grave - it's so true.
