Echoes of Midninght

I heard you between the woods
you chirped the lullaby of night
Even the revered Nox descended
And the tranquil runnel followed your voice

your mellowed voice echoed the skies
and the barbarians slumbered to your hymns
even the crickets beguiled by your voice
Ceased their plaintive grimes

are these the echoes of midnight
where you follow your dreams
hymning the rhymes of life
and minx with the race of gloomy light
