gone.

gone.

A Poem by Nisha M.
"

how i imagined death would feel like.

"

...

And it happens

Unexpectedly

I’m still here

But nobody ever sees me

My soul lingers,

I see blood on my hands

They’re crying,

Doctors said they tried

And then they all cried

Flicker, flicker

Lights are dancing

I’m light as a feather

I hear screams

Of people I recognise

But I don’t know why

Won’t they speak to me?

I’m here, say something

Won’t mother come to me?

Tell me everything’s fine

And though I loved being alone

I wish somebody’d come and tell me

I’m not on my own

I don’t want to, I won’t

My body pleading for warmth

They lay me lower, slowly

I struggled, and wailed

Nobody heard what I said

I gave up,

Until I realised

They’re crying for me

I’m no longer to be

I am gone,

Mother, father

I’m scared

I’m dead

I am sure many of us have pondered on our own death. Whether we would be aware of what was going on or whether it would be like a light switch turning off. Good to see you back posting Nisha M. All good wishes to you.
