How does it feel like to play with fire?

i kept climbing up

when i didn’t know how to fall

but for you,

i dared risk it all    

     

 

i run to your footsteps

afraid i might not make my way back

but for you

i dared deviate from my track

 

 

i sing to your melody

the very melody that could break this heart

but at the expense of a perfect song

i dared call for a restart

 

 

i start a war with fate

so I could fight the destined

 

but how much more must I defend

and at what cost do I dare

 

when i know that this gamble

will only destroy me at the end.

Even tho your story in a poem seems to be about romance, it could also pertain to other things, such as an addiction to substance abuse or gambling or other destructive things in life. You use strong rhyme & rhythm, with a parallel construction from stanza to stanza in the first three & then the last three, mixing it up & adding to the intensity of feeling hopeless to stop this obsession (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
