A FallacyA Poem by Nisha M.If you thought the world is beautiful, you might want to think again. (also ps this is pretty controversial so take it as you will)It does not take much to convince the naive That humankind would get better than this But it is terribly foolish for one to believe That the flawed man would one day achieve world peace Where corruption reigns and greed prevails Where one is worshipped for establishing superiority Children continue to bleed and die in our hands And our ears continue to be fed with deceit and hypocrisy
The most foolish preach the most The idealists advocate their visions, unrealistically grandiose The shallowest glorify the unworthy, The conceited b******s shamelessly thinking they've not yet lost Alas, the worst of all The ordinary, foolish man Banishing from his thoughts His friends, brothers and sisters For they were not as luxurious as he was, He was ashamed, For they were not the same Who would ever acknowledge The unknown, the disgraced The damned, the cursed The unsaved, the forgotten Alas, it is the worst! When will we, foolish humans, Ever be enlightened by the simple revelation Life is a sham, a masquerade We’re nothing more than chess pieces And in this game, there is no checkmate Undeniably, there will only be victory When us, the foolish humans, are dead Attempting to salvage the unscathed remnants of humanity We try coming to terms that we are more than a feeble race But this world does not resemble a haven of perpetual pleasure And life is merely cheap wine leaving us with every bitter aftertaste And when we learn that each and every of us must fall Will we only realise © 2018 Nisha M.Author's Note
