Beyond BoundariesA Poem by Nisha M.Lyric poetry about inter-racial marriages/relationships. I really enjoyed writing this one. They told me you and I are from different leagues Only born and destined for things we deserve The line never intersects, the energy is weak In two contrasting worlds, there can be no love Doesn’t matter, this is reality, sure isn’t a game Different is unusual, and unusual is far from cruel It’s only you and me, against every set boundary Doesn’t matter, whatever colour, Because we all bleed the same They tell me I’m marching to a different beat They tell you you’re singing to a different melody But they never do seem to understand When we come together, our song has no end We’re so intricately different That when we collide, we form a necessary paradox We’re so unlike each other That when we cross paths, sparks spill out of every box We’re so unheard of, That we’ve become the headline of all talks They tell me I’m marching to a different beat They tell you you’re singing to a different melody But they never do seem to understand When we come together, our song has no end Their premonition is wrong, The lines have converged, our fates, intertwined, The energy has never been this strong And soon enough, they’ll join in to sing our song
