Fated, Not DestinedA Poem by Nisha M.Soulmates? Not quite so. (Also red strings refer to the red strings of fate - you can read up more about it here: https://www.littlethings.com/red-string-of-fate/)Perhaps it was a glitch of time, Perhaps it was a misfortune Perhaps it was reasons we couldn’t find Or perhaps it was simply you and I Thinking we’d share every single moonlight You and I, were only fated to cross paths. And for everything unbeknown to us, You and I, were not destined to last. I pray our red strings aren’t damaged in our next life Until then you and I, We are only ships that pass in the night. We tell each other not to grieve We have so much more to live I’d tell this to you, to myself, all the time But what am I supposed to do? When the sky cries, I cry with it too Because every of my rainy day is spent talking about life With you When I pass by our favourite place, life is cruel enough To remind me of the times we thought We weren’t walking on a delicate line I guess we were both blind Thinking we’d share every single moonlight You and I, were only fated to cross paths. And for things unbeknown to us, You and I, were not destined to last. I pray our red strings are mended in our next life Until then you and I, We are only ships that pass in the night. If there is another life after this, I want you to know, that I know My heart will recognise no other, Your soul will drift to no other Until then, you and I We are only ships that pass in the night.
