A Letter To A Friend

A Letter To A Friend

A Poem by Nisha M.
"

I wish you well, my friend.

"
I think too much, sleep too little
Spent hours hurting myself again and again
I’m sure it must have been hard for you
But I can’t lie, this has been hard for me too
Take it as if I should be the one to be blamed
Take it as if I took the first step to the door
Curse at me, cut me out of this cruel game
Nothing can save us anymore
We had it all, to the envy of the world
Built this out of nothing, thought we had everything
But in time we have come to learn
That whatever we had was only temporary
For with our own hands, we pour the gasoline
Bit by bit, you and I taking turns
and with such might, such bridge we dared to burn
Life is no coincidence
When we met that very first day,
At that very first time
I’m still ever so thankful for that,
For your glitter, your shine,
For every light you’ve brought into my life
In this unexpected farewell,
Let us remember how we far we’ve come since we began
Let us not be in sorrow for it does not do to dwell
I guess the time has come to witness the start to the end,
With this last letter I leave, I wish you well, friend.

the pain of ending a friendship is something i can't fathom but when trying to go to the core of it there will always be a reason.
