The Greatest Things That Shall Not Be

The Greatest Things That Shall Not Be

A Poem by James Takeo Panton
"

I work through pain...

"

The greatest things that shall not be
Now faded hopes and memories
Of things I’ve dreamed and hoped and prayed
Replaced with doubt and feeling afraid
Is this the fate that is meant for me?
A dark path with no light to see
To dwell on things that are lost and gone
And fade away with coming dawn?
Quietly slip into abyss
Of loss and fear and what I’ve missed
Full of regret, empty of hope
To never smile and always mope
Stoned, alone, in Mountain Time
No great heights shall I ever climb
I wander through this solitude
My faith in things is not renewed
And wander round until my time is done
I shall disappear, like setting sun
The dream is over, not to return
And deep within this pain still burns
In despair and in my sorrow
No smiles today, no laughs tomorrow
No hope or heart shall unburden me
Of the greatest things that shall not be

Wow.. such sadness.. through such flow.. we all feel like this sometimes..it's a struggle sometimes to find the light and after such a hard winter.. for you to have the courage to venture out west is quite the inspiration.. many would like to do this and can not break free from their cushy jobs and everyday life.. you just had a very major loss so I know that hurts.. hopefully this spring and summer gets better for you and opportunity opens wide.. I hope for you! Thank you for sharing.. your writing is always inspirational whether happy or sad.. here's to better days ahead my friend! =)
