The Tigers Are SleepingA Poem by James Takeo Panton
The tigers are sleeping
Warm in their beds
Lazily lounging
With dreams in their heads
Sleep in the sunshine
And awake in the night
Roaming in darkness
Dozing in light
In these rooms do they prowl
And sneak cross the floor
Where no-one is watching
Except when they roar
In this house, they rule
As they slink and they roam
Their kingdom is a jungle
That I call our home
But now they are silent
With not a meow nor a purr
Tiny little tigers
In softest of fur
