Long Days AheadA Poem by James Takeo Panton
House is lonely, large and dark As I look out over ruined park Simple square, no longer green Silence falls upon the scene Here I am where I have been Living in a city, unseen Being all that I can be For only Worldwide Web to see Yet I lurk alone in secret places Unfamiliar to people’s faces Long lean months are coming soon With the coming of waxing moon Winter nears, crisp and even End of year in dead of season And so it comes, yet I’ve no fear Of things that await in brand New Year I may have doubt of things unknown And feel empty in empty home But I know what comes and what it brings Much hard effort before next spring Long days ahead I do foresee Long days ahead in store for me © 2008 James Takeo PantonFeatured Review
