Summer is DeadA Poem by James Takeo PantonIt's time to go...
The leaves are now changing
To gold and to red
Falling to pavement
Summer is dead
Warm days not as long now
Colder nights grow fast
Times are now changing
This season does not last
Like a lover who’s gone
And left the bed cold
I feel so detached
I feel so old
My birthday soon comes
And with it, my dread
Autumn is here now
Summer is dead
I dreamt of beaches
And long days in the sun
But now I must go
And my time is done
Return to something
But what, I don’t know
The time fast approaches
The time I must go
All that’s been done
All that’s been said
Those times are over
Summer is dead
