Coma WhiteA Poem by James Takeo Panton
My dreams are coloured in coma white
They come feverishly in the night
My angels are all dressed light like day
They make my pain go far away
Descending down from heaven above
With great compassion, full of love
The needle pricks into my skin
I do not feel the pain within
I feel cold, then warm to touch
They do so little, yet it feels so much
My body drifts and melts away
Gone now is the pain of day
The sheets are soft and cool and clean
The only reality in this dream
Lights not bright, dim and still
My feelings gone with each pill
Softly, softly, do I dream now
From this I will not awake anyhow
And when this dream is gone and done
And my days end with setting sun
The dreams, they come, in coma white
Lost in fever of darkened night
