Tomorrow Is Never Soon EnoughA Poem by James Takeo Panton
Where do you go when wandering
Through the corners of my mind
To all those places near and dear
And in my heart I find
The hopes and strengths and dreams I’ve had
Many have been washed away
But the love for you that remains inside
Shall, with me, remain and stay
The memory of sweet lips and dark nights
And soft and gentle skin
The look in your eyes flashed upon me
And warmed my heart within
Your bated breath still now resides
In whispers in my ear
The angelic face I wish to see
And to always be so near
The touch you have is warm and smooth
I feel it, even now
How much I long to find it again
And keep it always, somehow
And with each day, I grow closer still
The fire within me burns
As with each day, this time passes
Until I can return
And be a man of more than me
And cry to heavens above
I do this all not only for myself
But to be closer to my love
I will be strong and quiet now
I will not fail or falter
This plan I have created
From this path I shall not falter
And in the end, when all is done
And when these things have come to be
I hope that I may be closer
To having you, again, beside me
