The man you seek

And the one you find

The one who crawls into your mind

You think I am

And in your mind I always haunt

The answer to

And without me, you feel weak

The one you adore

The one that leaves you wanting more

That is not me

Not who I am

I have my own most earnest plan

To be as best

As I can be

To do this for myself, to do for me

I am not

A Superman

I am not the one who has all the plans

In shining armour

There rides a knight

Who shall come save you from your plight

He is not I

He is not me

For I am merely mortal, you see

I am no king

I have no crown

I have no way to bring you up from down

I am not the hero

I am not the star

I am not the one you have sought from afar

I am just a person

I am a human being

I am not the one you think you’re seeing

Because if you think

I am the one

Or if you think I am just for fun

Then I must say

With gentle sigh

“You have me mistaken, I’m not that guy…”
