Section 2

I basically jump out of bed. 

No I did.

“Injury alert, injury alert.” my automated alarm says in panic.

I walk around frantically. 

What did I see?

Or dream.

Footsteps. I hear them.

My G Subjects are about to come so I turn off my alarm and jump back into bed. 

My G Subjects come in. They look at me and say The Phrase.

You have to respond to that. No matter what. If you are a Subject you immediately respond. There’s an exception if you’re sleeping though. It’s a way to check if you’re really sleeping. 

I bite my tongue and do not respond.

They figure I’m sleeping and leave. 

The Phrase is Subject, They has called upon, do you hear?

And you must respond They, I hear you, oh thank you.

I feel guilty.

I cower under my blanket hoping that my G Subjects don’t see that I’m awake.

Even though they are gone, I still feel like they know. 

I might as well go back to sleep. Actually sleep.

My eyes close not knowing the dangers I have ahead. Only thinking about this “perfect” life.
