NightfallA Poem by Niko
The great bleak black expanse
Winking, twinkling, with ephemeral globes of hope; Guiding lights lit, only in our darkest hour. Come the illuminate enlightenment heralded by the Dawn of Man, however, Guiding lights retreat to darkness, Leaving Man blinded in his own light, Decidedly alone left to wander. Knowledge is sown, yet Guiding lights forgotten; Pride is proudly shown, yet Our ancient rites go rotten. The fruit of progress: ignorance, And forget our old friends, we do, Not a single tear shed for the blackening stars, For we are our own stars- Adieu. Adieu to Meaning, To guidance and to Love. Adieu to our Father, way up above. We need none, For the glory of Man, And so we are lost and blinded By the myth: Yes we can. © 2010 NikoReviews
