A Poem by Nikki Monserrate
"

When you're loving someone from afar....the least you can do is write about it.

"

You came from a distant while
Walking towards me with that distinct smile
Traces of age I caught on the sides of your brown eyes
Your hair gently blown by the gust of wind from a thousand miles

We were staring at each other under the heat of the sun
A picture so perfect, quite unknowingly where it begun
Suddenly, you took my hand and looked away
Then a kiss on my forehead, you said “I’m here to stay”

Was it all for nothing or was it meant for something?
I did not know but I found myself jumping
Into the vastness of possibilities
And the endless uncertainties

We walked towards the edge of the crooked road
Laughing and talking, all the jokes were sold
It got dark and the walk took longer than it seem
A blink and I found myself lying on the bed, it was only just a dream

The joys of being in love and then realizing all of that had been for naught. Beautiful composition. Keep up the good work

A great poem with some sadness, but the great thing is, dreams still come true.
