what I want

what I want

A Poem by nikki sicki

you never told m what you needed
only what you wanted
you made sure I would see the falls
of great hero's
like yourself
the hero's you and I never got to be
A mix of honey and peach arsenic made your face
your eyes
were cole mines
that children
fall
into
Your presence is like walking in on a suicide
with johnny cash music in the
back
over a bathtub that kept all your secrets
You tried to make thing easier for you
they never were for me
like a medicine bottle with the child proof cap
and me without a voice
or hands
distant
cellophane conscious
fireproof
love proof
childproof
Whether is you or me doesn't matter
the people we could have been
should have been
might have been
swing sets held our train-wreck tragedies
and rolled-filled sand boxes held our lust
we are all children again in the
end
go to relive again
I never told you what I needed
only what I wanted..
You.
