Driving

Driving

A Poem by nikki sicki

I was driving driving to somewhere and I forgot
and I started to think
about what in my life
I sought
Out
Out imaged my body in the earth
bubbles traveling up-word to make holes in me
so roots can find me and take hold of me
inside of me
Organs rot into food for the flowers
my hands were
flower
pots
Did I miss something?
Did I forget something?
In a flash a minute a day or a year
what if I wasn't here
I'd leave things untold that should have been said
I'd leave unfinished wishes and dreams that should have
Run
Run
Ran ran ran out of mind
turn around started to find my way home
got there unraveled it all
Sister, I'm sorry I told you you eat way to loud
Moma that sweater with
cats and yarn and bells is not so
ridiculous
Dad I love you no matter how much I don't see you
Roots might find me and take hold of me
Inside of me
Inside of
You?
Were you driving to somewhere and forgot
think about what in your life you sought?
Out?
Out imagine your body in the earth
are you ready to let the roots in
meteorite hit the earth
run run run
ran
out
