Be Careful

This is a true poem based on sequences of events in my life. I would really appreciate feedback on my poetry since I'm not too good at it.

Trust

Don’t just hand it out like pieces of a Hershey's chocolate bar

No one is trustworthy

Don’t give just anyone your trust

Secrets

Deep information

Anything

You must make people work hard for your trust

Build walls

Just like around a castle

If you don’t work hard to do this, anyone can just get in and stab you while you aren't looking

People you think you can trust

aren't always going to be trustful

Best friends for 8 years

Nope

They tell people they just met your deepest secrets

Wouldn't you expect them to tell you if someone said something bad about you?

You would be let down if your answer was yes

They won't tell you anything

Not even best friends

Don't give just anyone your thoughts

The boy you like will find out that you like him about .3 seconds after you tell them

After he knows he doesn't look at you the same

Things get weird between the two of you

But if things do work out between the two of you

Not even him

Especially him

Don't give just anyone a piece of your heart

Breaking girls’ hearts is a hobby for him

Not even your parents

Don't tell just anyone about the problems you have

Not even your parents will understand

You tell them you have bad anxiety

They think you are lying

They knew they should have sent you to therapy when you were younger for your “lying problems”

Just because you can't relate doesn't mean I’m making things up

Those walls that you are planning on building

Don't build them out of dirt

Build them out of steel

What is the point of building walls if they can be so easily taken down?
