A bad joke chapter one: where the monsters live

u'll find out it's good I promise :)

 

        My name is Iocus Damien Read, I’m not allowed to eat anything normal. I tried it once and I got really sick, so I have to eat special food my mom makes for me everyday. In this world everyone looks like a model, no one seems to age and I feel like an outsider, because I’m no model. I’m kind of short and I’m way too skinny. I have my books to keep me company though, my vampire books.

        I’m a sophomore in high school and I’m 15. My father Cassius is a doctor, my mom Duana is a poet. All our names mean something, my father’s means hollow like his dark onyx eyes. My mom’s means “dark little maiden.” And mine means “Joke” because it’s funny how I’m here.

(I'd like to see more description. I know you posted the image of Iocus, but it's always much better to show the story in words and imagery, rather than to just tell it.)
