corpse bride

corpse bride

A Poem by nightmask
"

dedicated to tim burton's corpse bride :)

"

lonley in her silent grave

sleep leaves her eyes as she awakes

in her silence she must be brave

buried alive it seems to be

she is not alive though her heart is aching she said

even if there are tears to shed and flee

she is buried underneath the flower bed

unhappy as could be

only her silver and cold ring is save

she lifts herself up as dawn breaks

her heart into glass

which smashes  on the floor

of her coffin slipping into her rotting shoes

now your really living the blues

her skin cold as death

her heart is bust

so no more breaths

can she take

whispering to listeners

in her wake

her death

was a foolish mistake

why did she trust him?

why did she want to flee?

no her longing love is dim

and she mourns how she will never again be.

This corpse bride is no longer young and beauty

she is gaunt and lonley and old

but somehow she goes on to her duty

to warn young pretties as her story is retold
