I disguised my name and such because if I used my real name I'd feel naked
"Mom? Hi you called me?" Jack asked over the phone wondering with his ear pressed to the phone if his mother would yell at him or just blame him for forgetting something or give him a guilt trip on "how she loved him" The witch! Jack thought. "No I don't need you anymore" jack heard the response to his question mumbled over the phone in a what seemed to him to be a disgusted voice. He listened to the other end of the line click off. Jack knew by meaning she didn't need him anymore was probally because she needed a favor and asked someone else when she couldn't contact him right away. And yet the words kept harshly replaying in his head and cut his head up. "I don't need you anymore" Jack was ripped in two, he wanted to take a knife and slit his throat and his wrists and the other part wanted to cry and curse. But Jack remained still placing his invisible skin mask of grimness on again and went into the living room to join the others.
Huh... interesting. This is a simple, yet complex, story... I can't really describe it, but it's got me thinking. ;) It definitely reminds me of all the kids my age complaining about how much they hate their parents. :P Regardless, I really like how you got "Jack" to respond so personally to a somewhat cold response from his mother that I'm sure everyone has heard before. It's got reality, something that's almost hard to find. lol!
Lots said in so little, gives true meaning to the saying "words can kill" many ppl go on in life with that mask on.
You captured the feelings of lonliness, sadness, and feelings of being unloved well with this piece.
