The Fence

The Fence

A Poem by Night Edge

The Fence

In days of yore
The peasants would
Sit here and ask for more
Princesses wondered why
Every day they sat outside

'Daddy, why don't we bring them in?'
'My child, they are covered in sin.'
'Daddy, why don't we get the priest to bless them?'
'If we did so we'd have to dress them.'
'Daddy, why can't we give them clothes?'

He never answered.
So nobody knows.
