Quiver POV

POV Detected: Quiver

Talon lands behind the group, late. No one else notices. We walk into the room, and there are lots of chambers. Scientists read lists of stuff that I pay no attention to. When it’s time for me to get into the chamber, Pitch squeezes my hand. He must’ve noticed my nervousness.

“It’ll be fine. When you wake up, I’ll be there waiting, ok?” he says.

“Promise?”

“Promise. Everything will be alright.” I step into the chamber and it seals shut behind me. I turn to look out at everybody. The last thing I see is Draike mouthing I love you  before something pricks me in the neck and the world goes black.
