Twigs snap under my feet as I run through the forest.

“Tenebris, look what I can do!”

“Like Zavier’s, right?”

I can feel the memories struggling to surface. I try to push them back.

“A bit, but you’ve done better than Darknight ever could.”

No! I can’t have flashbacks now!

I can feel the blood pounding in my ears. What did he just say?

“Oh no. I think you made him mad.”

“Stay behind me, Alexi!”

“Zavier, stop!”

“Tenebris, look out!”

“ALEXI, NO!”

“NO!”

“ALEXI! Tenebris, what did you do?!”

“WHY???” I yell, scaring a flock of birds off a nearby tree. “Why?”
