Pain. Wracking, unending pain. The wretched girl broke my arms. I cry out as I stumble into a wall, slamming my arms against it. I have to get out of here. I will heal. I will heal. I… will… heal… But how could I believe that, in this world of pain?

“Sir,” a concerned official said when he passed me in the hall. “Are you alright?”

“No, I am not,” I huffed, grimacing. “Isn’t that obvious?”

The official apologized and helped me to the medic room. “What happened?”

“That upstart Peregrinator broke my arms,” I grumbled.

“Oh.” The official looked surprised. He almost said something more but stopped himself.

After I was deposited in the medic room, my arms were put in casts and I was given pain meds. Soon, I fall asleep.
