I'll Love You Til My DeathA Poem by K-MonayWhen you looked at me, straight in the eyes, and told me the things you did, my heart built up with fire.
When you held my hand tightly, I never wanted you to let go, Though our palms got sweaty, I smiled so wide, Because our love was so free.
When you said the words I love you, my heart beated so fast, Though my heart kept jumping, it finally contained itself, and I stuttered and slowly said it back.
When you held me tightly, I could hardly move, this love was so chilling, so paralyzing, I never wanted to leave your arms, your grasp, your hold on me would never let go.
When we stood in front of everyone, and said those beautfiul vows, I understood what love felt like, finally, now, When you took my hand, for once in my life, I finally felt needed.
When your hand finally let go of mine, and you took your last breath, you told me six small words, I'll love you til my death. Those words kept fumbling through my head, over and over, I'll love you til my death, my lips will always repeat.
