Chasing Vanity: Poem from A-Z (check 1st letters)

A Poem by Nigel Mim Avedon

Above all the great poets and artists,
Brushes, splashes of paint, strokes of enginuity,
Cherishable artifacts with vanities unamassed,
Deeds of fearsome reparations,
Every beautiful thing under one umbrella,
Fortune betwixts mankind and morailty retires with confidence,
God as Alpha stands over all,
His gift to us the choice for wisdom,
Impossible it may seem but wise men once were,
Jesus a voice not from the shadows 12 men heavy with bibles,
Knowledge for peace sake surrendered control to wisdom,
Lasting beauty hidden under stretch marks,
Mesmerized by her eyes but even those go blind  in time,
Needlessly all I have said means all vanities expire,
Omniuos red coals emanate like love satire,
Prove to me beauty never fades since sight is by light,
Quote even light rests at night,
Rest yea assured beauty, wisdom, love are home burried in your skull,
Sexy is the new brainy,
Told as a lie like a cloud looming in wait for heat struck men,
Unfortunate we choose vanity over wise council,
Visual stimuli her Rose Red lips,
Woebegone by the thraldom of brute force love,
X-ray her heart, cold as the Devil's hiding place,
Yadda yadda yadda and so we end,
Zenith bound like the dry mushroom shaped leaves on rose petals...
