My Angel In The Sky

My Angel In The Sky

A Poem by Johnathan Nieves

Who are you to catch my eye?
Who are you?
To be so heavenly defined?
As an angel in the sky flying so gracefully
I jump to try and catch you but I fall and scrape my knee
When I run and attempt grasp you, I fail again indeed
For my last and final try I think what if that was me
So instead I sit and wait to let you see thee
And it’s then when I grow my wings
When I fly up growing in my glow of pure glee
Disappointment
For you are no where to be
Until I see you on the ground waiting for me to see thee
You are mine and I am yours and now together we will fly as of one accord

Forever and ever I am yours
